“There's a calm surrender to the rush of day
When the heat of the rolling world can be turned away
An enchanted moment, and it sees me through
It's enough for this restless warrior just to be with you.”
Elton John – Can You Feel the Love Tonight (or talking about frisbee as a form as escapism???)
Although I had a busy week, I’ll try to keep this as short and sweet as possible.
- Hit the gym solo on Monday, did some road intervals on Tuesday.
- In terms of IID games, Wednesday’s was pretty uneventful. We got off to a 8-1 lead (should have been 8-0…just missed D-ing a disc thrown to CHo in the endzone), turned it off (except for Giddy-up who Callahaned!) and cruised to a 23-13 win. High-light was not trying hard and ending up with killer stats. Low-light was getting broken by the Duffman twice.
- Felt bad for our opponents including ex-Hammer Big Jean. They don’t seem to have the right mix of players to succeed in a very athletic league.
- Got a semi-depressing message that resulted in the entry prior to this one on Wednesday. Even though change is inevitable in all facets of life, it still sucks.
- Class was cancelled on Thursday since the thaw resulted in water flooding into the electrical system at SAT. After Tuesday’s run, and a weight workout earlier in the day, I didn’t mind.
- A surprising pain appeared Friday in my gluteal region. It originated several months earlier, and almost felt like a bite?
- Had a blast organizing ‘Purple Friday’ for Finishing Move. However, the 21 – 18 loss definitely got me down. Despite my little bro’s 6 goals, 2 celebratory dances from Hello Jessie, and a fun night of wearing purple, FM gave up the last 5 points to let our opponents steal the win. Like AK55 said in the car afterward, we didn’t deserve to win that game.
- Got together with Triple S and McHolla for a KJ approved workout on Saturday. We broke out a disc and were working on Skubers (sp?), lefty flicks, and behind the back catches. I’ll be much better prepared for Flights next summer ;-)
There’s something else I should address, but lack the energy and time to do so adequately.
If this coming week is as busy at work as last (and I hope it is…loving the new job), not sure about picks on Tuesday. Until next time, happy hucking!
